Ehrenzeller Square Essen

Redesign of a market place in the Altendorf district of Essen. Under the motto 'update_ehrenzeller platz', DTP developed a concept that creates a high quality of design and use through targeted upgrading and selective additions.

Rows of trees projecting into the square with accompanying wall panels interlock the square with the adjacent green corridor to the west and east. The northern head of the square was converted into a 'forum' - a tree-covered area between two buildings, a kiosk and a box. The square area continues to be the multi-purpose market. The square asphalt surface received a refinement in the form of an orthogonal grid of edged stainless steel sheets.

A planting action with children of the neighborhood took place.
