The Wittelsbacher Ausgleichsfonds intends to construct a fish ladder in the Ascherbach at the drive of the Graßlfing estate. In accordance with Art. 4 WFD, § 34 WHG and Art. 16 BayWG, the structure is intended to restore the longitudinal passability of the stream for fish and macrozoobenthos.

Within the framework of a study, several variants of the alignment and technical design (basin pass, slot pass, rough ramp) were developed together with hydraulic engineering experts. The variants were evaluated hydraulically, limnologically, in terms of nature conservation and economically.

The preferred variant is a rough ramp with disturbance elements and quiet depressions. This will be located in an existing flood channel, ensuring fish can find the facility and avoiding massive encroachment on adjacent properties. Other advantages of the Raugerinn include low construction and maintenance costs.

The construction of the fishway will be supervised as part of the environmental construction supervision. In particular, compliance with the provisions of the permit, but also the observance of the relevant paragraphs of the Water Resources Act is to be monitored. The compliance with all requirements is documented in a report.
