Where "all Kielers" learned to swim, a gymnasium has now been built. Behind the historic walls of the Lessinghalle are also two very charming courtyards, which were brought to new life with the conversion. They are used by the newly moved-in daycare center and serve as outdoor areas for the youngest children.

The design idea is based on the strict geometry of the building from the 1930s with clear rectangular basic shapes. At the same time, the two garden courtyards contain elements that refer to the previous use of the indoor swimming pool: with starting blocks, lifebuoys, silted-up pools, a forgotten lifeguard's pole, etc.
