Playground of the generations, Erfurt

The youth area has the character of a sports arena. The grandstand made of colored concrete seating blocks is a meeting place for sports activities and a place to "hang out". The football field was extended by a streetball field, the sports areas received a red plastic surface.
Separated by a differentiated planting of trees and shrubs, a generous recreation area with seating elements is adjacent. It serves, among other things, the older generation to play chess or boules. The old park trees provide cooling shade.
The sand play area is surrounded by a long seating wall. Here parents and grandparents can linger and keep an eye on the little ones. The color concept is reflected in the centerpiece of the playground, a 30-meter-long, orange-red play wall with circular openings. It inevitably catches the eye of passers-by on Schillerstrasse, but spatially clearly separates the playground from the traffic artery.
A variety of play elements and equipment are attached to the wall. The kids can conquer the climbing tower via platforms at different heights, a wobbly bridge or a dangling course, and then whiz down again on the slide.
