Vienna's largest private housing project at present, the development of a 40,800 m2 part of the Körner barracks in Vienna's fourteenth district. Within the framework of this project, CC Wien Invest, founded by the residential construction specialist Consulting Company together with investors, is developing up to 1,000 new apartments, the vast majority of which will be built within the framework of the Viennese housing subsidy.
The joint contribution of the Viennese architectural firm driendl*architects ZT GesmbH and Bödeker Landscape Architects was recommended for transfer to the zoning and development plan.
The selected contribution was particularly convincing due to the integration of the valuable tree population into the open space concept: "A carefully thought-out positioning of the building structures creates a campus-like spatial quality, which is further emphasized by the extremely sensitive treatment of the existing trees. By concentrating the volume at the edges of the area, the park area to the south is freed up. The resulting coherent green space is of high quality and offers the residents high-quality open spaces," said the jury, explaining its decision.
