The central task of the Limes Regional Landscape Park is to highlight the typical landscape structures, to stage the landscape and thus to strengthen a specific identity. Value creation and the promotion of economic structures are the result. The prerequisite for this is a vision of landscape development.
Decisive for a successful realisation of the Limes Park is the integration of all forces present in the area. Enthusiasm for and identification with the 'Limes Park' must be generated within the framework of the project and the 'added value' of a regionally oriented landscape park must be communicated.
The realisation of individual projects develops a pull effect and contributes to the continuous development of the Regional Landscape Park.

The 'Limes' as a World Heritage Site is the central, but so far often 'hidden' theme, the neighboring communities. The landscape unique selling proposition is a topographically moved forest landscape with outstanding view relations and valleys.
Exciting time testimonies of the historical forest use are to be found everywhere. Landscape-based recreation and local recreation have a large, expandable potential in the landscape.
The overarching themes of Romans, landscape and historical uses are elaborated in the Limes Park under various aspects in order to strengthen the specific profiles of the individual municipalities.
In addition to the landscape and (recreational) infrastructural strengthening, the development of a joint marketing strategy is a central goal of the Landscape Park 'Limes'.

Of particular importance for the identity of the planning area are the charming and varied cultural landscape, the Limes and the numerous cultural activities in the communities.
Derived from these diverse potentials, there is a concentration on overriding core themes for the open space concept and tourism marketing (see figure):
The landscape forms the basis on which the core themes are built. Only within the framework of the scenic backdrop do the attractions develop their special appeal.
An individual profile of the Limes Regional Landscape Park is achieved, in addition to the themes of the Limes and culture, primarily through the content orientation towards a playground of nature. A special offer lets develop in this way the additional target group families and children.

Project packages:
The master plan represents the summary planning concept. The core themes of the open space concept can be implemented through a range of different measures in the Limes Landscape Park.
Many individual measures can be bundled into spatially themed project packages. Existing and newly created attractions of the Limes Landscape Park are linked by paths or landscape guidelines.
In addition, infrastructural measures are necessary that serve the overall development of local recreation and tourism.
In addition to the project packages, the master plan is also characterised by numerous other individual measures that support the guiding objectives of the landscape park as individual 'pinpricks'.

Starter projects have an initial and signal effect for the landscape park. This only becomes visible through the built and designed on site. Rapid implementation of starter projects is the first step towards establishing the Limes Landscape Park.
Some of the proposed measures can be carried out jointly by several municipalities and thus meet the objective of inter-municipal cooperation in the Landscape Park.
In the stories you can experience five of the eight starter projects.

In order to highlight the Limes in the landscape, a striking element is needed that nevertheless blends harmoniously into the surroundings - a recurring symbol for the landscape park. With the 'Holzbrammen', an artistic approach has been found that meets these requirements and makes reference to history. Once the border wall was not only a ditch-wall-system but also provided with rows of stakes, as they can be found today as replicas e.g. in graves. The wooden slabs illustrate the course of the Roman border line as a stylized row of posts with large and small wooden steles.

With the landscape windows dubbed 'tuning forks', an artistic medium was found that is intended to be a landmark for the region. It is a landmark, information board, vantage point and eye-catcher at the same time.
The idea of a wooden stele from the Starterprojekt 1 'Holzbrammen' is taken up and varied. As a sign visible from afar, it marks the vantage points in the landscape park.
The gap in the column encourages the viewer to look through it and thus sharpens the eye for a section in the landscape - a 'landscape window'. Information signs on the 'tuning fork' explain the visual impressions and provide information on the Limes Regional Landscape Park in general and the site in particular.

The planned high trail Wieslauftal leads over approx. 34.0 km from Schorndorf to Welzheim . The route extends mainly on existing hiking trails. Existing vantage points are connected via spur paths. A separate guidance and information system accompanies the entire high trail.
In addition to the vantage points, new experience stations will be created along the high trail to vividly depict nature, history and land use of the region and to encourage identification with the landscape. These experience stations impart knowledge and provide the opportunity for interactive use by visitors.

For local recreation around Alfdorf, the Leinecksee and the Eisenbachsee play a special role.
The Eisenbachsee has a good water quality and is used as a bathing lake. Except for a gastronomic facility on the Dammweg, however, it is largely undeveloped for tourism.
As part of the core theme 'Nature's Playground', the recreational offer at Eisenbachsee will be improved and an experience area at the water will be created for families with children of different age groups. Play and information offers refer to our Germanic ancestors under the motto 'Living like the Teutons'. Germanic history is conveyed in a playful way and made tangible.

The unique Wetzsteinstollen mine in Spiegelberg is being developed as a tourist attraction and made accessible to the public.
For the tourism program "Visitor mine Wetzsteinstollen" a concept was developed that goes beyond the measures planned in the starter program.
Measures within the starter project are the expansion of the circular trail, reconstruction of the roller conveyor for the trolleys and design of the environment at the crushing hut, seating area and stairs at the Wetzsteinklinge, the clearing and documentation of the Lower Quarry and the signage of the mining trail.
The project Wetzsteinstollen Spiegelberg is implemented and was inaugurated in autumn 2012.
