KREISFEUERWEHRZENTRALE TORNESCH © 2017 Munder + Erzepky
Due to increased demands on the fire brigade, the district fire brigade headquarters in Tornesch is being extended to include an NBC vehicle hall as well as a workshop, office and archive area with a technical centre. In the outdoor facilities, parking and traffic areas, a fire pond, training grounds, a recreation area and compensation areas will be created.
The parking spaces for cars and large vehicles are designed with infiltration paving. All other traffic areas are paved with concrete pavers in a herringbone pattern. The rainwater is collected in a trench system and purified before being discharged into a rainwater retention basin, which is equipped with a sheet pile wall for recovery exercises.
In addition, fixtures for various firefighting and rescue exercises are being built on the site, such as a fire area, a recovery trench and two wagons on rails.
The planning is complemented by a recreation area with a pavilion as well as lawn, wild rose and tree plantings. Extensive meadows and new kink plantings make it possible to compensate for the construction work on the site.
