Brother Klaus Way Neuler On the trail of a peace saint

On the occasion of the 600th birthday of Saint Niklaus von Flüe (1417 - 1487), also known as Brother Klaus, a theme trail in and around Neuler about his life and work was implemented in September 2017.

Niklaus von Flüe is known as an ambassador for peace, pastor and as a spiritual advisor also for foreign heads of state in 15th century Europe, not only in Switzerland.
Some citizens of the municipality of Neuler have made pilgrimages to the places where Brother Klaus worked, where he spent some time of his life and also made his pilgrimage.

In Ramsenstrut, district of the municipality of Neuler, a new chapel, former Nikolauskapelle, dedicated to the Swiss national saint Niklaus von Flüe, was already built in 1962. Today's Brother Claus Chapel in Ramsenstrut is the starting point of the theme trail, which leads through the Schlierbach Valley between Neuler and Ramsenstrut.

The Brother Claus Trail extends over a 5.3 km long circular route, with 7 stations that tell about the life and peace messages of Brother Claus. For the implementation of the 7 individually designed stations, artists, graphic artists and the carving group of Neuler were brought on board.
