Data protection
The Bund Deutscher Landschaftsarchitekten, operator of these pages, takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this data protection declaration.
We would like to use our website to provide you with information about our work and refer to the processing for the protection of our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO as the legal basis for this.
As a rule, it is possible to use our website without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (for example name, address or e-mail addresses) are collected on our pages, this is always done, as far as possible, on a voluntary basis. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.
We would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. communication by e-mail) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
Server log files
When you visit our website, the provider stores data in so-called server log files, which your internet browser automatically transmits to the provider, in particular:
- Date and time of the server request
- description of the type of web browser used
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL (page from which the file was requested)
- name of the requested file
- amount of data transferred
- Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
- IP address of the accessing device
This data is stored for a period of 7 days. The IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before it is stored. This data is not merged with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we become aware of concrete indications of unlawful use.
SSL encryption
This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries that you send to us as site operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Contact
If you send us enquiries by e-mail, your details will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent. We delete the enquiries if they are no longer necessary. We check the necessity on an ongoing basis; furthermore, the statutory retention periods apply.
Cookies
When users access the offer, one or more cookies are stored on their computer. A cookie is a small file that contains a certain string of characters and may uniquely identify your browser. With the help of cookies, the provider improves the comfort and quality of its service, for example by saving user settings. Cookies do not cause any damage to the user's computer and do not contain viruses. We use session cookies to provide login functionalities. It is also possible to use the service without cookies. Users can deactivate the storage of cookies in their browser, limit them to certain websites or set their browser to notify them before a cookie is stored. You can delete cookies from your computer's hard drive at any time using the privacy functions of your browser. In this case, the functions and user-friendliness of the offer may be limited.
Use of map material from OpenStreetMap
We use map material from the "OpenStreetMap" service, which is offered by the OpenStreetMap Foundation on the basis of the Open Data Commons Open Database licence. To our knowledge, user data is used by OpenStreetMap exclusively for the purpose of delivering the map material. This data includes, in particular, the user's IP address. The data may be processed in the USA. Further information can be found in OpenStreetMap's privacy policy: https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
For map display, this website uses the OpenStreetMap-based service of CARTODB. Information on the data protection of this service can be found at: https://carto.com/attribution/
Use of programme libraries, style sheets and scripts from bdla.de
Our website uses program libraries, style sheets and scripts, such as jQuery and Leaflet. Many website operators integrate these program libraries via third-party providers such as Google or Cloudflare. In doing so, data of the website visitor's internet browsing takes place on the servers of the third-party provider and the website operator has no influence on how long these data are stored or what happens to them. This data may be used for profiling purposes.
To prevent this, we avoid using third-party providers and provide as many programme libraries, style sheets and scripts as possible ourselves. This is done via the domain bdla.de, which is hosted by our provider Strato. For technical reasons, data is transferred from the visitor's internet browser to our provider's server. This is the same data that is generated during a normal visit to our website. You can find more details on this in the Server Log Files section of this data protection declaration. This data is stored anonymously for a period of 7 days. This data is not profiled or merged with other data sources.
Your rights as a user
When your personal data is processed, the GDPR grants you certain rights as a website user:
Right to information (Art. 15 DSGVO)

Right to rectification and erasure (Art. 16 and 17 DSGVO)
You have the right to request without undue delay the rectification of any inaccurate personal data concerning you and, where applicable, the completion of any incomplete personal data.
You also have the right to request that personal data concerning you be deleted without delay if one of the reasons listed in detail in Article 17 of the GDPR applies, e.g. if the data is no longer required for the purposes pursued.
Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 DSGVO)
You have the right to request the restriction of processing if one of the conditions listed in Art. 18 DSGVO applies, e.g. if you have objected to the processing, for the duration of any review.
Right to data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO)
In certain cases, which are detailed in Art. 20 of the GDPR, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or to request the transfer of this data to a third party.
Right of objection (Art. 21 DSGVO)
If data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) (data processing for the protection of legitimate interests), you have the right to object to the processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the personal data unless there are demonstrably compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override the interests, rights and freedoms of the data subject, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.
