This roof terrace is located above the roofs of a historic factory in the heart of the city of Bielefeld. An invisibly screwed, sanded wooden decking is laid on the existing substructure; like that of a ship's deck. The covering is all-embracing and thus creates a uniformity. The uniformity of the material draws the eye to the essential - the surrounding urban landscape. Umbrella-like woody plants create a sheltered, lounge-like atmosphere. A water basin provides lighting effects both on the terrace and in the interior. The wooden decking folds out from the floor level, becoming a seating lounge on one side and a dining table on the other.
