From the parking lot to the fairground (2006 bis 2009 )

Completely sealed, completely subordinated to motorised traffic, but sufficient parking spaces... This is how the Marienplatz presented itself before the reconstruction. And the Mother of God? Looks down somewhat unhappily from her elevated location on the whole...

During the construction work, the square is recognizable for the first time in a long time in its actual dimension. The closure of the central square for many weeks is an unfamiliar situation for everyone and, above all, a tough test for the adjacent businesses.

With a roaring summer festival, the citizens of Frontenhausen enthusiastically take possession of their new market square. The 'balance of power' has clearly changed in favour of pedestrians and cyclists...
