In the course of the conversion and renovation of the winery, the redesign of the catering and wine sales took place.
Also the outdoor facilities were redesigned. Various floor coverings were removed and replaced by basalt paving. The central design element is a pond with a cascading stream. The plane tree courtyard was also redesigned.
An existing, listed grotto has been refurbished by restorers.
The overgrown woodland in the landscape park was thinned out and supplemented and structured with new woodland and shrub areas.

Winery von Winning - Deidesheim

The Winery von Winning in Deidesheim was extensively renovated and redesigned in 2009/2010. In the process, the planning of architect and landscape architect went hand in hand.

The former farm buildings were converted into the Restaurant Leopold and a vinotheque, and the historic sandstone villa was renovated and converted and put to new uses. Today, offices, administration and event rooms of the winery are located here.

The outdoor facilities were also redesigned in the course of this. Two outdoor seating areas were created for the restaurant. On the one hand in the plane tree court, on the other hand there is a terrace at the pond with brook run. A bench made of old barrel bearing stones now frames the 150-year-old plane tree in the plane tree courtyard, as does a water feature with a new "water dragon".
The waterfront seating area connects the plane tree courtyard with the Kaisergarten. This is an approx. 700 m² large park from the 19th century, which was last unused and overgrown. The tree population was thinned out and trees that were no longer stable were felled. A listed grotto, made of sloe roots dipped in lime, was restored. There is a small children's play area to the rear. The oval lawn is used for events.
The cascading stream, made of regional sandstone, flows into a pond in front of the restaurant patio. Path surfaces of the park were constructed of quartzite chippings and borders of existing limestone marl. Existing sandstone slabs, wall copings and steps were partially reused. A herb garden was created between the old sandstone villa and the new parking lot.
Facades of the building ensemble, the pond, the grotto, the plane tree and the old trees in the park, are atmospherically illuminated in the dark.
