The urban districts south of Frankfurter Allee are characterized by open development with a relatively high proportion of greenery ("green islands"). Again and again, small squares or green areas create spatial accents and become places with a high quality of stay. The design concept aimed to strengthen these characteristics and develop them into a distinctive identity.
The existing penguin playground was expanded into a large sea, in which "river floes" as climbable play figures take up the image of ice floes drifting in the ocean current. On the area between Kadiner Strasse and Lasdehner Strasse, a generously dimensioned recreational area was created, which allows for functionally uncomplicated movement. Only one single element structures the area and creates its own identity through its presence. The giant Windenwurm is a bench and sunbathing area, picnic table and activity stage all in one.
