A playground was built directly in front of the entrance to Chemnitz Zoo. The generous reorganization of the space reflects the importance of the zoo for the city of Chemnitz.
The "Noah's Ark" theme is represented by five large animals and an abstract ship. The row-like arrangement of the figures symbolizes the animals' journey into the ark. The playground is divided into an equipment play area, a water play area and a zone especially for small children ("ark").
The playground is separated from the entrance area of the zoo by a curved bench. It can be used both for waiting for visitors to the zoo and for supervising children. Stylized animal figures have also been placed at prominent points along the path from the parking lot to the main entrance.
