As part of the urban redevelopment concept for Eisenhüttenstadt, the residential area WK VI was designated as an upgrading area. The qualification of the central green relationship with selective upgrades and the creation of sports and play facilities is an essential component of the upgrading measures. Due to the street names and existing works of art, the theme of the cosmos was the overarching theme of the individual measures implemented. In addition to the climbing rocks, equipment elements such as benches, climbing and Lümmel combinations were designed and built for this construction project.
The central green relationship extends between the Fröbelring-Passagen shopping centre in the north and the OSZ in the south. On the western side, the area is bordered by the Fröbel- or Diesterwegring. On the eastern side by the Archenholdring. Between the OSZ facilities and the residential buildings on Archenholdring and Kepplerring, there is a pedestrian and bicycle path connection that also forms part of the green space.
