The Eiderstadion Büdelsdorf is an existing type B fighting track from the 1950s. In order to bring this sports facility up to the state of the art and to improve the comfort for spectators, a complete reconstruction has taken place since the year 2000.
All surface coverings in the running tracks and sectors were changed from tennenbelag to plastic. All athletic areas of the running, jumping and throwing disciplines are housed in the new stadium and have been made handicapped accessible.
The new seating grandstand seats 2000 spectators and the new floodlighting and sound system allows it to be used for floodlit games and evening events. The roofing of the grandstand in the third construction phase has completed the conversion measures and made the Eiderstadion one of the most beautiful sports facilities in Schleswig-Holstein.
The Eiderstadion has been approved by the German Athletics Association for German B championships, youth international competitions, regional championships and state championships with regard to its optimal equipment.
In addition, the 4th league team Eider Büdelsdorf plays its entire games in this stadium.
Furthermore, the B-pitch located above the Eider Stadium has been renovated and converted into a synthetic turf pitch (3rd generation).
