Urban II - Coordinating development concept for the Wallstraße neighbourhood Outdoor facilities - traffic facilities

The task of this informal planning in the first stage was to create a long-term open space concept coordinating the current framework conditions. In addition to the urban design and monument preservation, functional aspects, such as the development of parking and development concepts, were to be considered.
The results of the neighborhood concept Stadteinfahrt Ost and the expert procedure Kavalierstraße were to be considered as well as the current developments of the plans "Altes Theater" and "Sport- und Kurshaus" in the former AOK building.

In the second phase, the terrace of the Teahouse (2006-2007), the square at the Old Theatre (2007-2008), the areas around the Sports and Course House (2006-2009) and currently the areas around the sports hall at the Philantropinum, as well as the square in front of the Sports and Course House (2008-2010) were subjected to concrete object planning. New pedestrian connections, spaces with different quality of stay, resting places and outdoor seats for gastronomy, playable places for the theatre, colour points through vegetation islands and interesting light arrangements were created.
