On the Niederwall in the city centre, there is an open space in front of the Old Local Court and in the transition to the city centre, for which a new and contemporary design concept was developed in a workshop process with three workshops. The basis for this was the design ideas from the ISEK (Integrated Urban Development Concept) as well as the design wishes and usage requirements of the citizens and business people.
The design was implemented from the end of 2012 and combines the functions for a public space with event possibilities as well as possibilities for outdoor gastronomy and a new, attractive play area.
Thanks to the intensive discussion with local restaurateurs, young people from a youth centre, artists and other Lübbeckers, the square was very well received and revitalised from the start.
