After several attempts and preliminary investigations (including a watercourse maintenance plan for the Badbach, Beuerlein/Baumgartner 1990), it was possible to carry out the Badbach watercourse restoration in the Königstein district of Mammolshain in 2008-2009.
Due to the extraordinarily strong hydraulic load from the sewage system, the brook had burrowed up to three meters deep into the narrow brook meadow, which was formerly used as a wet meadow. The old chestnut trees standing on the valley slope were therefore in danger of falling.
The aim of the measure was to raise the bottom back to the old level (approx. 40 cm below the adjacent terrain).
The poor accessibility for construction vehicles presented the executing company with great challenges.
A total of 2,500 tons of Taunus quartzite were used.
