Design of outdoor facilities according to service profile § 38 HOAI (2009)
The planning provided for a redesign of the public playground for multiple use for residents, school and daycare in Jesewitz. The goal was a child-friendly redesign of the public playground to promote mental and physical skills, as well as social behavior.
The used playground should be converted into a public, central place of the community and used by the children of the community. In addition, the area serves the elementary school as a recess yard. The public accessibility is guaranteed by a gate. The planning and implementation of a child-friendly design in dialogue with parents and children was an important criterion. The playground should be suitable for different age groups and combine features such as diversity, design and nature experience. The condition of the playground at that time was limited in the spectrum of use, i.e. not all age groups were addressed. The playground equipment could be classified as desolate. The planned equipment provided for variable playground equipment that could be used by children of different age groups in a variety of ways. The new layout was structured by creating niches, allowing children to retreat into different spaces (rest, play, explore). The creation of the spaces also provided for a varied path construction. Large paved areas for ball and bouncy games, but also for events, sand areas for climbing facilities and lawn (with shrub vegetation) to delimit the spaces.
