Hard on the eyes - blossom splendour at the roadside!
Extensive redesign of the traffic-accompanying vegetation areas along the main road in Eschorn.
The replacement of the old woody and shrub vegetation by a perennial planting not only opens up the street space but also ensures a varied flowering throughout the year. The selection of perennials always has new surprises in store, is constantly changing and offers an appealing picture even in winter. A year-round fun - not only in passing.
The project is characterized by very high standards in the selection, use and composition of perennial and bulb planting, as well as a sensitive approach to existing vegetation structures:
coordination of the vegetation composition with consideration of strongly different locations such as
- densely rooted, shaded root areas of existing woody plants
- sunny areas
- small-scale locations between parking facilities
- high input of immissions from the heavily trafficked main road on the side
- tread compatibility in small sub-areas resp. distracting or deflecting design approaches to prevent 'wild' paths
- drought tolerant plant selection
The planting areas received complete soil replacement to improve the site, and in areas of existing woody plants, topsoil removal was accomplished by suction excavator.
With the same equipment (compressed air lances) soil compaction was solved before installation of the structurally stable substrate.
The pictures document de planting about half a year after planting.
