Sports Centre Schönkirchen

The municipality of Schönkirchen has comprehensively renovated the existing sports facilities at the Augustental school centre, as they no longer met the technical requirements and standards.
The centrepiece of the sports facility is the type C athletics track with all athletics disciplines as well as the synthetic running tracks and sectors. For the spectators of the athletics as well as for football matches, a seating grandstand has been erected, which is integrated into an earth modeling.
For the daily training operation, the construction of a synthetic turf field is planned, which is filled with a sand-rubber granulate. Ball catching fences, training lighting as well as a standing tribune give the training ground the appropriate framework.
As a corresponding number of parking spaces must be provided for a sports facility of this size, the construction of over 110 parking spaces has also been taken into account.
After the completion of the sports centre, Schönkirchen has been appointed DFB base of the Schleswig-Holstein Football Association.
