Neustrelitz, DRK hospital / medical centre and nursing home

Of the hospital construction measures of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the new construction of the DRK hospital Mecklenburg-Strelitz in Neustrelitz has been realized as the last new construction of a complete hospital. All further and future hospital construction measures will take place as conversions and extensions of existing hospitals.
The new hospital building with approx. 150 beds replaces an existing hospital in the city centre.
The open spaces with their diverse areas of use such as

- main entrance situation with right of way
- parking spaces for visitors, short-term parkers and taxis
- service yard with separate delivery and supply traffic
- pathways and terrace areas within the hospital grounds
- inner courtyards and roof gardens

are in harmony with the building structure.
These diverse functional and usage requirements take into account the topographical conditions and the existing natural space with its dry grassland areas and pine stands.
The sensitive interlocking with the surrounding vegetation is additionally supported by the shaping of the contour lines.
Surface drainage is exclusively via infiltration troughs. In addition to the new hospital building, a medical center and a nursing home have been constructed.
