In the fall of 2014, AUDI AG opened a new location in Neuburg a. d. Donau for Audi driving experience and Audi Sport after two years of construction. Wolfgang Weinzierl Landschaftsarchitekten GmbH was commissioned as general planner and, in collaboration with 18 other offices, a versatile track network, a spacious customer building and the new Competence Center Motorsport (KCM) were created on the 47-hectare site.
The solitary customer building on the north side of the site is accessed via a spacious linden avenue and forms the entrance and shop window to the site. It stands on a forecourt which is laid out as a spacious meadow. This spacious, tree-lined area, in which the parking spaces are also located, forms a gentle transition to the Danube meadows. The far-reaching view and overview of the landscape is also to be preserved on the site. The design idea focuses on the landscape, which is drawn into the site by picking up on neighbouring structures - the transitions are fluid. Audi Neuburg thus becomes a "naturally" integrated component of the floodplain around Gut Rohrenfeld and Schloss Grünau.
