Redesign of the Allee-Center fountain in Berlin-Lichtenberg Increasing the attractiveness of an entrance situation at a shopping center, Berlin-Lichtenberg

The fountain field is located at the south-western entrance to the "Allee-Center" shopping center in Berlin-Lichtenberg. The fountain is a conversion of an existing fountain. The installation is located on public street land owned by the district's street and green space department and was redesigned with funds from the owner of the Allee-Center.



The client's private investment was intended to upgrade the entrance situation and improve the quality of the forecourt. The design concept envisaged removing the existing fountain stone and installing a fountain field with floor jets in the same place. The fountain slab is now framed by exposed concrete ashlar benches with seat cushions. To improve usability for all generations, there are backrests in some areas that are oriented towards the entrance to the Allee-Center, the surrounding urban space and the Metrotram stop.
