MARKETPLACE BUENDE Bünde 2012 - 1st prize, realization competition

A new square character is proposed that offers the necessary multifunctionality for events and also formulates a clear and identity-creating design. The square will be bordered at the edges and animated from there with quality of stay and offers. The extended playground of the Gymnasium am Markt and the bicycle stands are covered by a loose planting of rock pears (Amelanchier lamarkii), whose arrangement is reminiscent of the shape of an abacus. To the west, towards Marktstraße, the market presents itself with "green arcades". The areas of Marktstraße are included in the design and formed as "shared space".
