The Seeplatz on the banks of the Harkortsee is the central public space of the city of Wetter. Here, Wetter presents itself to the residents and guests of the Ruhr Valley as a lovable "city on the river".
Because of the special location of the lake square between the edges of the city, the reservoir and the open-air swimming pool, as well as the diverse path and view relationships, the triangular square space is developed into an open, multifunctional city stage. Here the city of Wetter clearly opens up to the lake, festivities are celebrated, people meet for a walk together or sit on a bench and observe the coming and going of the numerous day tourists. The wooden deck forms the terrace of the town. From here you can overlook the lake, take off on a boat trip or relax with a break on the long bench. The duck meadow and the playground are especially attractive for families, because here the children can romp while the parents sit down on the seats for a picnic.
