The renewal of the market square and the inclusion of the so-called Suffa site in the urban open space will create a lively new centre in the historic town centre.
The market square with its beautiful old buildings and the high stairways is extended to the south across the existing county road. Its curve will be flattened and the connection area of the county road joining from the east will be moved to the south. This allows the square area to be enlarged and the existing war memorial to be moved to its visual center, optimal use for events, and high quality of stay for citizens and tourists.
The deliberate differentiation in high-quality granite surfaces and lightened asphalt on the streets allows accessibility and low-noise driving. Walls and stairs separate the plaza area to the southwest from the higher parking areas on the Suffa site.
A "village lime tree" will emphasize the highest point of the square rising to the north and the access to the church square, a tree-covered terrace with beer garden the lower lying southern part. Targeted plantings of native tree species will frame and characterize the newly emerging space.
