In the course of the redesign of the cemetery of the city Hettingen, many parts of the cemetery were rethought.
Among other things, the entire entrance area was redesigned. Other important aspects were the renovation of the paths, the grave fields and the surrounding cemetery wall as well as the design of a premature baby grave.
By the development of the path connections as well as by the extension of the existing cemetery wall it succeeded to connect to a unit the areas of the old and new cemetery as well as the funeral hall, which were strongly separated before. The high wall surrounding the cemetery was completely renovated - including the memorial for the fallen of the two world wars. A new main entrance with access road and parking lot was designed. Natural stone entrance piers and a new cemetery gate were installed.
At the suggestion of the population, a unique premature gravesite was designed and erected with great attention to detail in cooperation with the master of stonemason Ulrike Ströbele.
