New construction of a residential building with commercial unit



There used to be a garage courtyard on the very narrow plot at Augustenstrasse 29. The plans envisage 2 separate buildings on the plot, a street building accessed via the passageway and a development in the inner courtyard with 4 house-in-house types accessed via the inner courtyard. The apartments in the rear building will each have a small special use area with a terrace and a planting bed.



The materiality in the outdoor areas is kept strictly in black and white contrast, with large-format SV concrete slabs in white and upstands for the plant beds in anthracite. The playground area is completely covered with bright blue fall protection surfacing. A special feature in the inner courtyard A29 is a 5m high climbing wall made of steel mats in front of an existing firewall. Ivy, blue vine and wild vine are planted on bored pile walls in large plant troughs made of CorTen steel.
