Construction of a show garden
To mark the 100th anniversary of the fruit and horticultural association, the association's management decided, together with the mayor, to create a show garden in Petersaurach. Once a suitable plot of land had been found in the south of the municipality by the Ziegendorf pond, a concept was developed for the basic structure of a diverse educational garden. A wide variety of nature and garden themes were to be shown, such as flower meadows, seasonal gardens, willow labyrinths, grass gardens, Feng Shui gardens, color circles, biotope gardens and others. Numerous old fruit and vegetable varieties were planted, as well as all native tree and shrub species. The garden was created by the association itself under our guidance and opened to the public at the anniversary celebrations. Since then, the garden has been constantly developed by the members of the association and has become a popular excursion destination for citizens from the region and horticultural associations from all over Bavaria.
