The TempoAir skate park in Hennef is a replacement skate park at the Rhein-Sieg district's vocational college and serves as a temporary compensation area for the existing skate park that has been removed. As there is a temporary and a permanently usable part, a coherent overall concept was developed with the skaters on site. This allowed the wishes and ideas of BMXers, skaters and scooter riders to be incorporated into the planning. Involving the local scene increases acceptance and usage and prevents vandalism.
The permanently usable part consists of a skate pool made of in-situ concrete. This represents a design focal point. The pool is kept low and includes several spine variants, ensuring optimum flow. There is also a slappy curb on the north side of the pool. The galvanized steel coping ensures good crimping properties in the pool.
The second design focus is the street area in front of the skate pool. The skate park is designed in the style of a public square. The in-situ concrete obstacles are set in concrete block paving. This creates an urban character. The street area can be accessed from the pool via several banks. There is also a rail that leads from the raised pool area to the street course. The street area also features a wobble, a flatrail, a pyramid with ledge and a table that can be accessed via two banks.
Construction of the 560m² facility began on August 7.
