The entrance area of the Technical Development TE is of outstanding importance. A clamped area is created between the New Guardhouse T9 and the Stepped Area T2 with a homogeneous square-like character.
The topography of the Technical Development in this area with a one-meter height difference between the southbound carriageway and the access road as well as the Test Hall T22 is strengthened in planning terms.
In the core area, a so-called 'sunken garden' is created with a circumferential approx. 120 cm wide concrete moulded stone, which forms the joint between the adjacent different heights of the paved areas and a subtly lowered vegetation area.
From the direction of T2 and from the south, the sunken garden can be accessed without thresholds and level and can be used for events, from the north the concrete strip forms an edge; the sunken garden is accessible via 3 steps.
Due to the exposure of the site, the circulation areas in the vicinity of the sunken garden are produced as flush mixed surfaces of light granite in analogy to the central reception at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt.
