KIRCHENwiese
Although the city park bears the name Kirchenwiese, a design or functional unity of the park with the adjacent city parish church was sought in vain.
The church walkway now ends at the west portal of the city parish church at a new church forecourt, which was designed as a so-called 'bastion' (retaining wall in pointed concrete). Shady existing trees in combination with simple seating increase the quality of stay of the new square.
Through the planning, the terms "city park" and "church meadow" were filled with content again.

Although the city park bears the name Kirchenwiese (church meadow), a meadow in the true sense of the word was sought there in vain. A new extensive meadow area with deckchairs in the upper part of the park has turned the name into a program again.

Child's play
A new play landscape was created on the site of the former children's playground. Few but with children very popular playground equipment complement the offer next to the central watercourse.

Civic Garden
The area facing the old town was designed as an inviting entrance. Pedestrians and cyclists can reach the city centre directly via a quiet civic garden.

Way to nowhere?
The extension of the city park to the Bürgergarten was already thought out in advance in the planning competition. A built crossroads as a symbol for the declared planning goal!
