Diffuse discharge via several discharge points in the transition area to the natural area trickles the throttled and purified water into the natural headwaters of the Krähenbach.

Adjacent to the street "In den Holzwiesen" there are filter troughs which temporarily store the polluted surface water from streets and squares. They infiltrate it through a soil filter, retain the purified water in the gravel trench and pass it on in a throttled manner or infiltrate it depending on the infiltration capacity of the existing soil.
The extensive filter troughs here also function as open spaces for playgrounds and tree groves.

The rainwater clarifier takes in the water from heavily trafficked roads, separates sediments and light substances from the water in the near-natural sedimentation and retention area before it is discharged into the Krähenbach at a reduced rate via a filter trough.

On the eastern edge of Scharnhauser Park, the development consists of terraced and detached houses. Their green roofs retain surface water already at the point of origin, improve the microclimate, the biodiversity of animals and plants and balance the heat balance of the building structure.

The schoolyard of the Scharnhauser primary and secondary school is also designed as a filter trough. In good weather, this is a great place to play and have a picnic during recess; during heavy rainfall, the rainwater is temporarily stored here.

Retention swales blend inconspicuously into the landscape, retain water over a large area with an overflow protection of about 5 years, and empty into the stream channel through outlet throttles.
Outlet throttles are designed to attenuate peak flows so that area runoff, infiltration, and evaporation from retention swales equal those in the natural water balance.
