Address formation through individual colour compositions in the vegetation areas near the buildings and the establishment of an individually designed courtyard meeting place.
The main objective of the modernization was to preserve the affordable housing for older people and to adapt it to the changed needs of the residents. The row buildings, which date from the 1950s, were refurbished throughout in terms of energy, construction (barrier-free) and appearance. The gradual modernization enabled many tenants to move into freshly modernized apartments in the neighborhood prior to the work.
The access to the houses is now at ground level and the buildings were subjected to an individual color concept.
In the open space design, this type of address formation was consistently continued. Each building joint was given its own colour composition in the vegetation areas near the buildings and an individually designed courtyard meeting place. This not only creates identity, but also achieves a better mixing of the neighbourhood.
Innovative roof water is infiltrated in the open spaces via trough systems.
