Originally the garden had hardly any structure. A large blood beech was to be retained, but nothing really wanted to grow in the dry soil underneath. Also an existing garden house, a compost as well as a privet hedge should be integrated into the new planning. In addition, new visual protection to the neighbors was necessary.
The sloping privet hedge served as an axis in the planning. Paths, beds and lawns refer in their course to the hedge. The angled lawn stretches the garden and makes it appear larger. In addition, the hedge gives the garden depth. A large terrace by the house provides seating for three generations. Two further seating areas offer a sunny or shady place to relax, depending on the time of day. A cleverly arranged selection of plants makes the garden bloom at any time of the year, even under the blood beech it is now green.
