A BUSINESS IMPACT DISTRICT FOR DAMMTORSTRASSE
Dammtorstrasse is a main thoroughfare in the inner city centre with great importance in terms of traffic and urban development. From an urban planning point of view, Dammtorstraße forms an important element as an extension of the "boulevard" Jungfernstieg. The Hamburg State Opera House in the middle section of Dammtorstrasse is particularly characteristic of the cityscape. The transformation of Dammtorstraße into the "Opera Boulevard" describes itself primarily from a reorganization of the traffic space and the upgrading of the open space.
A CITIZENSHIP PREGNANT ENTREE FOR THE STATE OPERA
The reduction of the road space here allows a generous design of the pedestrian areas. These will be fitted with high quality materials and uniform furniture to give the streetscape a simple and elegant appearance. Through the establishment of the BID, the former thoroughfare could be transformed into an appealing boulevard with a high quality of stay.
