CONCEPT
St. Katharinen Church is one of the most important churches in Hamburg and one of the most influential in the city. It not only gives the new Katharinenquartier its name, but also its charm. Therefore, the exterior design of the quarter should be based on the existing, historic design of the church environment.
KATHARINE'S GARDEN
In the garden, a striped pattern of irregular repetition of large stone pavers, bands of flagstones and strips of lawn will be created. As the garden is a new design, the pavers are laid with sawn heads throughout the garden.
PRIVATE GARDENS
The private gardens are separated from the public area by a picket fence on a parapet wall. This parapet wall is of the same material as the seating elements in the courtyard and is also 50cm high.
BEPFLANZUNG
In the backfilled areas, tree solitaires are planted, which receive a substrate height of 100cm in these areas. The tree ,Sorbus domestica' was chosen because of its light foliage and its low growth height
