The open space design of the commercial and office building is divided into the outdoor area, the inner courtyard and an extensive and intensive green roof. Zalando SE will be the sole main tenant of the building.
The height difference between the adjacent road and the northern boundary of the property is absorbed by a retaining wall that follows the course of the terrain. Three large raised beds will be integrated into the retaining wall and planted with attractive and robust plants. Barrier-free access to the building from Planstrasse C is via a ramp.
In the inner courtyard, 3 planting islands will be created as clod-like raised beds. The individual clods each have sloping surfaces and are seat-high at the highest point. The air vents are integrated into the seating areas.
The inner edges are each provided with wooden supports for socializing. Small trees and large shrubs will be planted within the clods. Ground-covering perennials and grasses are used in the other planting areas. The planting beds are arranged in such a way as to create different sized, exciting spaces. Additional use of the courtyard is possible through free furnishings.
A roof terrace is planned on the roof, embedded in the intensive planting areas, which can be used for relaxation and events. At least 50% native species and varieties will be used for the planting, thus meeting the requirements for DGNB Gold certification.
