An area originally used for military purposes is being redesigned as a park following the demolition of the buildings and a 25-year fallow period. Compensatory areas for nature conservation will be included. The surrounding areas will be used for new housing construction. Within the green space, a curved asphalt path will be laid out as a cycle, foot and access path and planted with birch trees at the sides. Existing wooded areas interact with mown dry grassland to create an interplay of open and tree-lined areas. Piles of wood piled up from prunings increase the diversity of the biotope. They take up the momentum of the paths and enclose the open areas in a loose manner.
For visitors of all ages, a fitness trail with simple equipment will be created along the path and benches will be installed. A playground for small children will be equipped with play equipment and a large sand area. A sand play table will be set up barrier-free for children in wheelchairs. A beautiful wooden fence will be erected to enclose the forest. Newly planted trees will create an interplay of sunny and shaded areas.
