The project aims to unite both the building and the open spaces in a holistic design concept. With a sequence of water basins, paths and parks, the design of the open spaces responds to the curved silhouette of the administration building.
The SOLON Park site is modeled with the excavated soil from the building, creating a topographically very characteristic park. The site rises towards Köpenicker Straße. This meadow landscape pushes itself into the outdoor space against the direction of inclination of the roofscape and thus makes reference to the building architecture. On Köpenicker Straße, the modeling ends with a large solar mover and a wall into which a solar charging station for electric scooters is integrated.
The rainwater is used to irrigate the park or seep into the ground. A cascade system of unusual soakaways takes up this theme conceptually. The largest trough is spanned by a metal walkway that leads over a small island to the new island test stand of Younicos AG.
The five individually designed inner courtyards are embedded in the building shell like pictures. The different angles of view create a variety of images that vary depending on the time of year and time of day and always evoke new associations.
