The area around the bio-towers on the former coking plant site was transformed into an event area.
Today, the bio-towers are no longer integrated into an industrial environment, but appear as detached monuments in a post-industrial wasteland. Two open spaces on the site are in exciting contact with each other: the green area of the birch grove and the more stony area around the bio-towers.
The 16 x16 meter design grid, on which the bio-towers, activated sludge basin and other structures were aligned, is taken up conceptually. The grid forms the carpet for the arrangement of new functions: The new grass trough for surface drainage fits into this grid like the stages and grandstand. The eastern section of the birch grove will only be reworked and will largely remain as a park-like addition to the stone surroundings of the bio-towers.
