The garden was laid out within the Alsen villa colony around 1890 for a wealthy banker in the mixed style of the late 19th century. The restoration and conservation in accordance with the preservation order follows the guiding principle of restoring the garden with all its historic parts and furnishings as a total work of art and ensuring its maintenance.
The slope and terrace area facing Wannsee with its yew parterre, curved paths, orchard, herbaceous borders and wooden and wire trellises has already been extensively reworked. In addition, the surroundings of the modern reception building were designed.
The connecting path to the historic Swiss-style tool shed was widened and bordered with high-trunk roses. This arrangement is in keeping with formal designs common at the beginning of the 20th century and is adequate for the yew bed and yew parterre on the rear terrace.
The curved water-bound main path is provided with transverse drainage channels to improve the drainage of the path.
