Church forecourt Hoffnungskirche Dresden Special Award "Gardens in the City" Saxony

Conversion of a previously unpaved gravel parking lot into an appealing church forecourt with seating and space for events, with parking area, bicycle parking, greenery, varied perennial beds and extensive infiltration of rainwater.

Special prize of the state competition Saxony "Gardens in the city" in 2020!

Special features of the project:
- Area rainwater infiltration despite clay subsoil
- Certified seepage paving and gravel beds (reduction of stormwater fee almost to 0)
- Species-rich and natural planting
- Characteristic trees: Ornamental apple solitaire at the seating area, rock pear high trunk as spatial edge to the street
- Flower diversity and insect friendliness in bed strips: perennials, grasses, spring bloomers
- Individually developed and designed benches (with Fa. Ney Freiraumobjekte)
