Klinikum der Universität München - New building Campus Großhadern - Competition, 3rd prize with LUDES Architects - Engineers Ltd.

The entry for the competition 'New Campus Großhadern' was awarded 3rd prize. The central design element of the open spaces is the consistent use of the E2 basement as an open space and second access level, as well as the connection of the existing patient garden to the new building. Two hills up to 6 m high rise in the southern patient garden like two ice-age floes that have slid northwards. The roof of the base floor (E2) serves both as a second access level, through which one can directly reach the individual organ centres, and as a direct outdoor area for these organ centres. The forecourt area offers appealing outdoor areas for the bistro and restaurant located there and at the same time ensures a clear routing of patient, visitor and traffic flows.
