The schoolyard is divided into three areas: the open field, the climbing area and the ball field.
Multifunctional
In the Black Forest community, flat areas are rare. Therefore, there was the requirement to also use the schoolyard for events, as a public playground and parking lot. The large asphalt area serves as a movement area for the children, but can also accommodate a marquee and be used in the evening by the music club as a parking lot.
Identifying
To keep the primary use visible as a schoolyard despite the multiple demands and heterogeneous environment, the playground equipment picks up the sky blue of the school facade. The other materials are kept in neutral grey tones, which also makes the surrounding planting stand out more. It turns yellow in the fall, providing a complementary color to the blue.
Various
In two other fields, made of light gray fall protection, covers the actual playground equipment. In the southern field there is a large climbing pyramid and a balancing route made of platforms and ropes.
In the western field is a small play area with basketball hoops and soccer goals, as well as three trampolines built into the ground. The playing surfaces are set with long seating edges of gray granite. The lower-lying schoolyard is embedded in the surroundings via planted slopes.
