Under the motto 'Living Neighborhoods', the first design in the urban planning ideas competition for the Generation Square in Neuhausen had been created. The area is located in the center of the Filder community and in the economic catchment area of Stuttgart.
The goal was to design an open space that connects four social institutions with each other.
The girls' house (facility for anorexic girls), the house of flexible help (educational assistance), a nursing home for the elderly and the Villa Kunterbunt, an event building.
In three construction phases, a place of encounter was created, which is equally usable by the residents of the facilities, as well as by visitors and the community itself.
Two axes form the backbone of the design.
The 'economic axis' with entrance, development, service, main accesses, driveways, road space as a multi-traffic area and with a view to the residential district and Sulzbachaue.
The ' green axis' runs across it and connects the community center with the parking area as well as Villa Kunterbunt to the east. The outdoor area of Villa Kunterbunt is available as a semi-public space for free use.
Attendance areas and leisure activities overlap. Communication areas for all generations are created.
