The Offshore Quarter is located at the head of the harbour basin in the Borkum district of Reede. The former fallow land of approx. 25,000 m² is located between Juister Strate and the harbour promenade. In the first construction phase, 3 residential buildings for staff accommodation and 1 single-storey restaurant building were built. The concept of the outdoor facilities for the new offshore quarter is understood as a bracket between the individual buildings. In addition to the spacious, vegetated areas, a paved multifunctional square and a raised terrace area have been created in combination with the new restaurant building. In order to guarantee the requirements of flood protection for residential buildings, part of the site was raised and supported by means of angular support elements and steps.
