On an area on the eastern edge of the city, adjacent to the A94 motorway, four high-rise buildings with office, hotel and daycare facilities have been built in Munich's Bogenhausen district. At the foot of the buildings, the open spaces integrate key infrastructure elements and absorb noise from the surrounding roads and the neighboring A94 motorway.
"Golden Garden":
Dealing with the topography is the guiding principle of the open space design. The concept of the "Golden Garden" is based on a hilly landscape with wooded crests of terminal moraine hills in an open meadow landscape. Gentle hills flowing around the towers characterize the site. Grass plantings as well as open lawns and meadows and the use of groups of trees give the area a park-like character. Yellow-flowering perennials, grasses and shrubs with yellow autumn colors make the outdoor facilities shine "golden" all year round.
Sky mirror:
The central square between the southern towers is the most important publicly accessible recreational area. With its minimal furnishings and a shallow area of water, the Sky Mirror, the area has a very wide and open feel. The sky mirror is fed by a rainwater cistern. Rainwater is collected in the cistern, cleaned and then used as a flat water surface on the asphalt pavement.
Underground areas:
The outdoor facilities with the planted hills were realized on a multi-storey underground car park. Large asphalt surfaces were also constructed on this. They serve as access for pedestrians, cyclists, deliveries and the driveway of a 5-star hotel. This required a structure for heavy goods traffic.
Outdoor facilities KITA:
In the south-east corner of the site, the outdoor area for the daycare center was created in the same design style. Play towers made of wood form miniatures of their larger steel and glass counterparts.
